Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma, COPD & diabetes. Patients can also book in for cervical smears, family planning, dressings, ear checks, child immunisations, INRs and blood results. The practice nurses also offer travel advice and immunisations but you must consult with the receptionist first before booking.
Our healthcare assistant team are qualified in taking blood, blood pressures, ECGs, simple dressings, ear syringe, b12 injections and flu injections. They also keep up with the day to day clinical duties.
Rebekah manages everything relating to the day to day running of the practice. Any complaints or suggestions about the running of the practice should be addressed to her in the first instance.

Emily and Sarah are responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties within the practice.
The administration staff are responsible for undertaking the regular clerical duties associated with running the practice as well as supervising the arrangements for patient referrals for hospital appointments, and sending out letters for patient reviews.
Patient care coordinator work with other medical professionals to provide the best healthcare possible to patients.
The reception staff are responsible for making appointments for patients, welcoming patients for appointments, accepting requests for repeat prescriptions and home visits, and all other routine inquiries concerning the day to day running of the practice.
The midwives supervise ante natal and post natal care for all patients registered with the practice. Most of the regular antenatal care is undertaken at Darley Maternity Centre, attached to Whitworth hospital.

The District Nursing team are responsible for managing patients in the community who cannot attend surgery. They also check up on patients who have recently been discharged from hospital for wound care etc. As well as undertaking certain clinics at the surgery.
The Health Visiting team offer a full range of support services to children, including child health surveillance checks and childhood immunisations The team work closely with health visitors at the nearby Imperial Road Surgery and some services are provided jointly.

What Do We Do?
We offer a preventive health service to all families with a preschool child. We aim to recognise and treat all developmental and health concerns and address all problems as early as possible so that children can be healthy and happy.
We also offer support and advice to parents doing one of the most difficult jobs possible.
